[...] A while back, I made the mistake of reading the Wikipedia article on the Power Grid. I was amazed at the mechanics of the system that allows a handful of uranium melting itself into slag in Glen Rose, Texas to shove electrons across a couple hundred miles of copper, through a handful of coils… all to be stopped by a little switch in my wall before they could excite the gasses in my Compact Fluorescent light bulbs. For two weeks after that, I was a road hazard. In the middle of my commute, I’d glance at my right hand mirror, gaze out my side window, and think “Hey! I didn’t know they were running two phase power out here!” I must say that I couldn’t have been a more dangerous driver during those two weeks if I was dryping. [...]

I'm still all thumbs on my BlackBerry. You don't want to see the emails I write on it. ;) I tried writing email while driving.. once. It's best for the world at large if I don't ever do that again. Be careful out there, Steve!

I've gotten quite skilled with my BlackBerry thumbs. I can punch away quickly and get a decent e-mail out in 5-10 minutes without many spelling errors.

But I've got you beat on the commute. I'm to work within ten minutes... walking. It's a bit detrimental when a server goes down though, because I'm now the closest person who can go in and restart it.

I've never blogged while walking to work for the simple fact that I don't want to get hit by the crazy people blogging while they're driving and not paying attention to who's in the crosswalk. ;-)
