I DO work in IT and have for almost 20 years and I HATE the "adapt or leave" attitude. IT exists for the end user...repeat after me...IT exists for the end user. If you make a wholesale change to software - leave some backward compatibility. The average user will not care about the changes to Facebook and they'll move on. There will, however, be a large number of users who feel frustrated and angry about the changes and I'm a little surprised that Facebook didn't roll this out in a smoother manner.

As to your cavalier attitude of "get over it or leave?" I sure am glad you don't work in MY IT department!!

mouse-over instructions don't make it any more intuitive or less terrible.

Anytime you change the customer portal, you'll get the same complaints.

"Last but not least – whining is for babies and last time I checked you were in your 20′s, 30′s, 40′s, and up – so suck it up!"

Bravo!! :) I totally agree with you Natalie, Facebook needs to continue updating to remain relevant and even though they have had some bad ideas, for the most part they have done well, or they wouldn't have nearly a billion accounts.
